Institutional Business Development & DEI Culture Lead, Lombard Odier Investment Management, London
With warmth, wisdom, and a spark of fearless creativity, Sharika took us on a powerful journey through her remarkable career — from the structured world of finance to the dynamic realm of startups, and finally to the vibrant pages of children’s literature.
What stood out most was her insightful perspective on breaking cultural stereotypes. Sharika didn’t just talk about change — she embodied it. Her transition into writing children’s books with a bold, diverse lead character was both empowering and deeply moving. The themes of resilience, inclusion, and fearlessness resonated with everyone in the room, leaving us inspired to challenge norms and embrace our unique paths.

Leadership Team, Keyworth Primary school,
London
Sharika came to visit our school for an author visit for World Book Day and Wow what an assembly you delivered. The children loved meeting you and asking you some questions . You took them on a journey through some of the places in your book and got us all thinking about the wonderful world we live in. The children enjoyed how engaging it was and the use of props brought the books to life. We can't wait for you to tell us when your next book is out. Thank you again for your visit. Executive Principle, Drapers Academy School, London
Children at Drapers' Maylands loved hearing that Maya's adventures are based on true travels stories. The session was interactive, providing an understanding of where the stories are set and what wildlife to expect there. We look forward to reading more of Maya's Worldly Wonders. Thank you Sharika, for helping to inspire the younger generation!
